- 1932 – यू. आर. अनंतमूर्ति – ‘ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार’ से सम्मानित कन्नड़ भाषा के प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार, रचनाकार, आलोचक और शिक्षाविद थे।
