OPPO Reno 6 Review: OPPO recently returned to the market with its half-height Reno6 smartphones as well. After seeing the Pro version, we discovered this OPPO Reno6 in the test today.
Packaging:
The new OPPO smartphone has interesting packaging, not so much for its USB / USBC cable or its transparent silicone case (always appreciated), but mainly for the presence of an excellent performance of 65 W deliver.

Construction and Ergonomics:
From a construction point of view, OPPO Reno 6 doesn’t disappoint at all, we have a metal frame and a layer of textured glass on the back, but it’s not the materials that make the difference, it’s the design. In a world of extremely standardized Android smartphones, this OPPO Reno 6 chooses something different: a flat edge.
Such a small but significant change in a fleet of devices that, as I said, all look the same. The “ice” effect finish on the back is also nice. On the other hand, the device is easy to use. It’s a shame it’s not waterproof
Hardware:
The hardware of this Reno 6 is interesting. Especially by opting for a Mediatek Dimensity 900 Octa-core 6-nanometer processor, this processor performed very well together with its Mali G78 MC4 GPU and offers an excellent balance between performance, power consumption, and temperature limitation.
So we have 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage UFS 2.1, unfortunately not expandable via micro SD Very good connectivity: 5G Dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. Unfortunately, the headphone jack is missing. Well, the fingerprint reader inside the screen, may be positioned a little lower. Good vibration system and the resulting haptic feedback.
Camera:
In this OPPO Reno 6 we have the main system with three cameras: a 64 megapixel / 1.7, an 8 megapixel / 2.2 wide angle and one from 2 megapixels ƒ / 2.4 for macros Photos are of good quality in practically all lighting conditions and that is not at all a matter of course in this price range. In addition to great photos in good light, you can also take more than satisfactory photos in dimly lit environments or at night, but there is still room for improvement and the various premium smartphones prove it, but the Reno 6 is still very the night turned out to be only useful in extreme darkness, as it provides brighter, but less defined images.
The wide-angle camera is inconspicuous, but the resolution puts it at a disadvantage. The macro camera is always (or almost) useless because of its resolution. The 32 megapixel ƒ / 2.4 front camera is very good, it won’t have an effective HDR system like the main sensor, but it always gets sharp images.
The video sector can be improved if 4K 30fps videos are nice but flicker a lot – better keep calm or use a cavelletto. Definitely more stable videos in Full HD, but obviously lost in definition. Among other things, Full HD with 30fps is also the maximum limit for wide-angle and frontal videos
Screen: Certainly one of the strengths of this smartphone is its 6.42-inch screen diagonal with Full HD + resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels). It is a good AMOLED panel, which among other things also guarantees the refresh rate at 90 Hz and thus offers outstanding enjoyment. It’s also compatible with the always-on display, extremely customizable as always. The screen is completely flat and is only interrupted by the small hole for the front camera in the upper left corner.
Software:
Like all OPPO smartphones, this Reno 6 is also equipped with custom Android 11 software with ColorOS 11. At the time of review, with the August 2021 patches, it has updated features and most importantly, customization, making each iteration richer and richer
We also find the increase in RAM (creating a kind of swap space in the internal memory), the sidebar of the shortcuts, the applications in the window, the start of the Google Assistant via the power button, the quick start with shortcuts in the reader. Fingerprint and O Relax to unwind with soothing sounds of hectic rhythms.
Everything with one interface, as pleasant as it is and, above all, always very fluid and reactive.
Autonomy:
the battery of this smartphone is 4,300 mAh: an amount that has always allowed us to reach the end of the day every time on a single charge, even with the screen set to 90 Hz is, it is also synonymous with good processor optimization. The highlight, however, is the quick charge with 65 W.
OPPO Reno 6:
OPPO Reno 6 is a practically flawless smartphone, but it sells at a slightly high price for rice.In the sea of smartphones, now “flawless” and with attractive prices, this Reno 6 is chosen because of its different design.
